Character Lineup - Species design

created some species for my original work, pulseless lace

Magic is…complicated. Some races have them, some do not… studies have shown that magic is unwieldy, and its etiology is unknown, so the world relies more on technology/steam/diesel/et cetra than the unknown of magic. There are outliers though.

Simplified Races:

Somnium - Elves
Known for being able to hone magical abilities, they’re dangerous and not common.

Prasin - Blue or lightly colorized skinned with soft pointed ears.
*Chrysus- white/light grey/iridescent skinned with golden flecks embedded in skin. Weaker
Pellucid - Transparent skin and organs, range of colorful skin tones
Ravvus - Grey/Monochrome elves. Mean usually, they’re often the ring leaders of the criminal underbellies. Or that’s just a rumor, and they’re pissed you believe in that.

Flustrum - Humans/human esq -

flustrum have uncontrolled magical abilities, although - to their detriment. Spontaneous combustion, drowning themselves accidentally. It’s a wonder they’re still around. Mostly known as either Flustrum or “wood elves”, there are differentiating names for the magic they’re able to produce, and unlike the other races of the world, they all vary and could look similar to each other;

(earth)Fusc - Also known as Wood elves due to the pointy ears and similar look to Prasin
(water)Ater - For humans, fairly uncommon. Mainly because…accidental drowning.
(Fire) Urantius - Wildfires are often due to these. Many tend to be firefighters for obvious reasons.
(wind) Aalbus- wind -Tornadoes are due to unstable moods.

Robur ; Orc like
Mostly physical strength rather than magical, they’re smarter than people give them credit for.

Virididis - Green: Get their ribs cracked from their stone counterparts, and are the shy versions of Rcanus.
Rcanus - stone robur - they’re very friendly, and often give rib cracking hugs.

Stilito; Reptilian

Differentiated by the teeth that bulge out of their mouths, stilito have wings and come in all shades dependent on their race.

Virdis - Green -...just a rumor, but Viridis is the rarest stilito to be known of, often said to be made out of green jade. Less than 5 have been found, and they seem to prefer it that way.
Auroanti - Orange/bronze - Mountain variety, prefer to keep away from groups but mine to make ends meet. Usually aggressive.

flovus - Yellow; Farmland/valley varieties - tends to gardens/crops/plants and often are quite friendly, though aloof.

Incoquo - Robot
Not pictured as they vary so widely.

Dolus - aka Faux-Incoquo Those that aren’t of the races below and control a mechanical body.
Natiiv - of the world steampunk/cyberpunk robots made on earth.
Adena - Creatures inhabiting a mechanical body -inner soul were born from space.
Psconsus - Unknown
